NAADA - New Indian Instruments on GeoShred feat Jordan Rudess, Mahesh Raghvan and Madan Pisharody

By Mahesh Raghvan ft. Jordan Rudess, Madan Pisharody

[Note: The session is full due to huge demand, but it will be broadcast live on Livdemy pages on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEVOeYVCLS8 and Facebook - https://facebook.com/livdemy/live].

We welcome back the legendary Jordan Rudess, whose brainchild GeoShred, has revolutionized the way we fuse electronics with acoustic sounds of the Indian Classical music instruments. The pioneers like Mahesh Raghvan have taken the platform to an unbelievable stature, where artists like himself and Madan Pisharody don't hesitate to share the stage with traditional and classical musicians and perform. We welcome Jordan, Mahesh, Madan to come together and introduce us to all new GeoShred, with the amazing new sounds created by Naada Instruments. We also feature many up and coming artists, who have partnered with moForte and GeoShred to help them with the sanity of this release.

One of the biggest part of this release is, of course the Naada Instruments. These are physically modelled (and not sampled) instruments, which means, every aspect of the unique sound of the instrument is modelled. If you know these instruments, you know how intricate the quality of their sound is. We have the brain behind these sound, Suthambara, in this session, to talk about the making of these virtual instruments.

Lastly, we are also going to present a showcase of leading GeoShred artists from India and abroad, demo their music using these new sounds.

About the Artist

Mahesh Raghvan

Mahesh Raghvan is an Indian musician who is known for his Carnatic fusion music. His experiments with Carnatic music on the iPad have multi-million views on social media. Besides being a full time musician and music producer for two bands 'Carnatic 2.0' and 'Thayir Sadam Project', Mahesh does music technology workshops across major universities and is the creative director of IndianRaga. Mahesh was a pioneer in bringing music on Touch OS to Indian mainstream music. One of the most popular apps in that space is GeoShred. He came up with innovative ways to produce the Indian note bends (also referred to as Gamaks and Meends) on the iPad surface. He was spotted by none other than the legendary Jordan Rudess, the father of GeoShred, and together with Mahesh' input, the platform was advanced to reproduce expressions and inflections that are typical to Indian music on an iOS device. This innovation has created a whole new generation of musicians around the world who have taken and created incredible music with iPad. Mahesh still remains the biggest champion of GeoShred and a force to reckon with, playing Indian classical, or semi-classical on iPad with incredible expressions. On LivDemy, Mahesh conducts a lot of live sessions on GeoShred, music production. There's also a complete course hosted by him, How to play music on iPad.
