Manodharma or the creative aspect is the crowning jewel of Carnatic music. It gives space for a musician to paint his or her own canvas with the varied hues of a raga. Manodharma in singing includes Raga Alapana, Neraval and Kalpana Swarams. Kalpitha Sangeetham is the one that is already available and is passed on from a guru to a sishya.
In this Masterclass, we'll explore:
- Difference between Manodharma and Kalpita Sangeetham
- Simple techniques of Manodharmam
- Balance between Manodharma and Kalpitha Sangeetham
- How to connect Kalpitha Sangeetham and Manodharmam while singing.
There will be a short Q&A session at the end where students can post their questions pertaining to the topic.
