By Sanidhya Das

Sanidhya Das, an extraordinary 11-year-old progressive rock and metal drummer from Bengaluru, is the first featured artist on Future Legends — a brand new conversation series by Livdemy spotlighting the most promising young musical talents.

In this episode, Sanidhya sits down with renowned music journalist and writer Anurag Tagat for an insightful conversation about his journey—from discovering rhythm as a toddler to achieving a Trinity College London Grade 8 Distinction at just 10 years old. He also shares his experiences performing on some of the biggest stages, including Mahindra Independence Rock 2024 (as its youngest performer), the UK Drum Show Main Stage Mini 2025, and Mumbai Drum Day 2026.

His playing blends polyrhythms, odd time signatures, and high-energy grooves, inspired by artists like Gavin Harrison, Jay Postones, Gino Banks, and bands like Sleep Token.

Sanidhya Das (born April 10, 2014) is a Bengaluru-based progressive rock and metal drummer who is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most exciting young musical talents. Known for redefining what’s possible behind the drum kit at a remarkably young age, Sanidhya began his journey as a toddler, experimenting with rhythms on everyday objects before going on to achieve a Trinity College London Grade 8 Distinction at just 10 years old. By his early teens, Sanidhya Das has already performed on some of the biggest stages in the music circuit. He has shared the stage with iconic bands like Indus Creed, Parikrama, Junkyard Groove, and 2Blue, and made history as the youngest performer at Mahindra Independence Rock 2024. Expanding his global footprint, he became the first Indian drummer to perform on the UK Drum Show Main Stage Mini in 2025, followed by a standout appearance at Mumbai Drum Day 2026, where he performed alongside India’s leading drummers. Sanidhya has been featured by leading music platforms such as Drummerworld and Rolling Stone India, further cementing his reputation in the drumming community. His playing style combines technical precision, polyrhythms, and complex odd time signatures with the high-energy sound of modern progressive rock and metal. Influenced by renowned drummers like Gavin Harrison, Jay Postones, Gino Banks, and bands like Sleep Token, Sanidhya continues to evolve a distinct musical voice.
