Shashank Subramanyam is a Grammy-nominee, renowned exponent of the Flute specialised in Indian Classical Music. A recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi award by Govt. of India bestowed by the Hon. President of India for 2017. A child prodigy, he began performing in 1984 and has performed for over 35 years. He was the youngest musician to be invited by The Music Academy, Chennai to perform in the senior most slot of The Music Academy, at the age of 12 in 1990. Trained by father Subramanyam and legendary vocalists K.V. Narayanaswamy and Pandit Jasraj in Hindustani Music. Shashank has collaborated extensively with host of musicians from India and around the world including John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucia, Zakir Hussain, Sultan Khan, Shahid Parvez, Ajoy Chakraborthy, Quartets, Jazz bands, Symphony Orchestras, etc With notable contributions to the art of flute playing, Shashank has performed in over 50 countries and has taught in prestigious institutions.
