Bass is a sublime entity - it's not just an instrument or a frequency spectrum, it is a philosophy. It anchors a song, and can elevate it to dizzying heights when applied with sensibility. No one understood this better than Tony Vaz. A stalwart and unsung hero of Bollywood music, his commitment to music was unparalleled. His pursuit of excellence was evident in his intricate bass lines that were created with the utmost care and attention, regardless of what fraction of the audience would actually hear them (given the fidelity of recordings and the speakers in listeners' homes).
This course comprises of 8 sessions that will primarily study his bass lines through my cover of his songs, and will also include other notable bass players who left a mark on Bollywood music.
