Course Description
Konnakol is an integral part of South Indian Classical music A.K.A Carnatic Music system. All the rhythms are composed using these syllables in Carnatic Music. In modern times Konnakol has become a phenomenon in the music world as it has been used widely to discuss and plan rhythms without even the help of any musical instruments.
As the title says you don’t need any kind of pre-music knowledge to start learning this Basic material. All you need is Interest and Passion.
Course Objectives
- To improve with dexterity and speed on the syllables that you already learnt in season 1
- To learn how to groove with simple Konnakol syllables
- To learn small endings and variations for that
- Practicing in Faster tempi
- Learning rhythmic patterns or Yathis
- To be able to do a small solo with the help of 8th note, 16th note and groovy patterns
- Introduction to the finale of rhythmic solo
- Mohara
- Korvai
Course Prerequisites
- To have studied material from season 1 is a must unless you have learnt this art for from elsewhere
- Please give it at least few weeks of practice time with season 1 before jumping into season 2
- Keep the same intensity of learning even in season 2
- Have a goal of trying to perform non stop for at least 5-8 minutes
- 30/40 minutes a day to practice this art
- Have a metronome handy while learning
- Have a book and pen handy while learning
